Diverse Categories and New Additions

This year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards boasts a range of colorful, gender-neutral, and genre-crossing categories.

One such category is Best Villain, which includes nominees from both movies and TV shows.

Some of the contenders are the murderous dancing doll from “M3GAN,” the eerie Upside Down monster Vecna from “Stranger Things,” and the CGI title character from “Cocaine Bear.”

These characters will compete against Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and Harry Styles in “Don’t Worry Darling.”

A fresh addition to this year’s awards is the “Best Kick-Ass Cast” category, which celebrates ensembles from different movies and TV shows.

Among the nominees are the casts from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania,” “Teen Wolf: The Movie,” and Netflix series “Outer Banks” and “Stranger Things.”

Nominations Spanning Scripted and Unscripted Content

The MTV Movie and TV Awards recognizes both scripted and unscripted content. In addition to the leading nominees mentioned earlier, other contenders in the scripted categories include “The White Lotus” and “Wednesday.”

In the realm of unscripted content, popular shows such as “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” and “Vanderpump Rules” have received multiple nominations.

A Night of Excitement and Recognition

With a diverse lineup of nominees and categories, the MTV Movie and TV Awards promises to be an evening filled with excitement and appreciation for the entertainment industry.

Host Drew Barrymore will guide viewers through a night that honors both well-loved favorites and fresh faces in film and television.
